Water pumps wear with age and start to leak due to the failure of the bearings and seals. Quite often a contributing factor is excessive tightening of the fan belts, putting an undue stress on the bearings. The first sign of failure is usually a drip which appears to be coming from the gasket on the under side of the pump. Gasket leaks are very rare and the coolant is usually coming from a weep hole on the bottom of the pump which is designed to give early warning of failure. The pump should be replaced as soon as weeping is noticed, because the leak can rapidly deteriorate into a great flood and leave you high and dry, possibly with a heat damaged engine.
When replacing water-pumps or other cooling related parts, always inspect and if necessary replace, all hoses and fan belts, since these must be removed during installation, thereby avoiding doing the work twice. We recommend using high quality name brand products such as Goodyear or Gates where possible, because their products appear to contain more anti-oxidants than foreign or cheaper lines, and are more resistant to smog and heat.

The fanclutch should be checked and or replaced at approx: 50,000 miles
Belts and hoses . If they don't look new replace them. One tow because of a broken belt or hose would have paid for the product anyway. So Replace them now.
Cooling fan motors are very important component. Be sure your is functioning properly
Heater control valves are often over looked have your checked.
Temperature sensors must be checked by a qualified technician.
